Responsive Classroom

The collaborative is sponsoring Responsive Classroom I the from August 1 through 5.  The class will occur at Mill River.  Check back for more information.

Skillful Teacher

The Skillful Teacher course will occur the week of August 15th in the Rutland Area.  Check back for further information.

Leveled Literacy Intervention Training

The collaborative will sponsor a workshop for Leveled Literacy Intervention on July 21 and 22 with a follow-up date on a Saturday in the fall.  Information to follow.

Primary Number and Operation Assessment Trainings (PNOA)

The Southwest Vermont Curriculum Collaborative will offer training for the PNOA in three locations: Bennington, Rutland, and Arlington.  For more information and to register for the training click on the link below. 

This training is designed to help teachers collect information about what students know and can do in grades K-2.  It focuses on the foundational understanding and knowledge all students need to be successful in mathematics.

2010-2011 OGAP Training

 

 
March 16th – Linking Multiplicative Reasoning to Proportionality (rescheduled session)
This workshop is for those who have completed OGAP Multiplicative Reasoning but not OGAP Proportionality. The emphasis will be on the transition between multiplicative reasoning and proportionality – how teachers in grades 4-6 can prepare students for a successful transition to proportionality and the difficulties students encounter.
Prerequisite: Participants should have prior OGAP Multiplicative Reasoning training.
Location: CSC, The Old Chapel

April 6th and 7th - Developing Algebraic Thinking Through Arithmetic (grades 2-8)
This session will focus algebraic reasoning including making and proving conjectures, properties, equality, and functions and how these are developed and supported from grades 2- 8.
