September 29th and 30th – Additive and Multiplicative Reasoning (grades 2-4) This is a 2 day session for teachers of grades 2-4. Day 1 will focus on the use of an OGAP Additive Framework. Teachers will use the framework to analyze student work and to analyze their mathematics program to see where aspects of the framework are found in their program. Day 2 time will be focused on the transition from additive reasoning to multiplicative reasoning. Using the multiplicative framework teachers will analyze student work. Both days will emphasize the use of the framework to both drive instruction as well as ways to engage students in framework.
